There's more exciting news to report from the Tennessee Aquarium today.

Thursday, Paulie and Chaos welcomed a new addition to their Penguin's Rock exhibit. The Macaroni penguins watched their baby hatch from its egg. The newborn has "slate-gray, downy feathers with a white belly and a white tip on the beak."

Also today, the aquarium found another gentoo penguin egg. This one is in "Peep" & "Poncho's" nest.

That brings the total now to one baby... And four eggs being watched.

Another penguin egg at Tennessee Aquarium

By: Staff Report

Tennessee Aquarium workers today found another egg at their Penguins’ Rock exhibit.

The egg is in the nest of gentoo penguin couple Peep and Poncho, according to a news release.

The first birth at the aquarium occurred Thursday when an egg belonging to macaroni penguin couple Paulie and Chaos hatched. It is the first birth for the exhibit, and the first hatchling for Paulie and Chaos.

Penguin caretaker Amy Graves expects Peep to lay a second egg in the next few days, the release stated.

Ms. Graves got a good look at the macaroni baby this morning.

“It has slate-gray, downy feathers with a white belly and a white tip on the beak,” Ms. Graves said. “It’s precious.”
