OMG We have a NEW CAM WORKING!
For those who keep up with this blog, today, we have a new webcam UP AND RUNNING! I'm just about as excited as one would be upon winning the lottery. Yeah... I'm that happy right now. :P Wah-HOOOO!
We can only hope that we get one that shows a close-up of a nest so that we can watch the chicks peeking out of their shells and taking their first meals.
And to those who are responsible for the new cam... I can't thank you enough. I think that my Christmas is on the way to being saved. Yes!

Now that the snow and ice are beginning to melt, the Gentoos will be squaring off over nest sites. There will be a great deal of staring at the ground over the next few weeks--staring at rocks and looking for the evidence of an egg.
Finally, they have a break from all that wicked, leftover winter weather and they can get down to the business of rearing chicks.
