Gentoo Rookery Update (Images)

Snow descended upon the rookery two days ago, but the Gentoos snuggled in and slept through most of the event.

 Here is our couple we will be watching the closest.

A rather inhospitable day began for the Gentoos this morning and most spent their day in the sea, fishing and bulking up. However, by the end of the day, the clouds began to part and the snow to abate.  More tomorrow... on the daily image roundup.

As you can see, there are far more than 2 penguins visiting the station today. All I can say is OH HECK YEAH!!! They're not going to let a little snow bother them. Nope.

Now, to give a big shout out to the station guys for fixing one of the outed cams:

Thank you guys soooo much! You have no idea how appreciative we are up here  in the Northern Hemisphere to be able to see these little birds. You give us a huge gift every year by just keeping those cams up and going. Again, we extend our gratitude for your behind the scenes work. Stay warm!

Has it been a year already? And yet, September passed without seeing these guys (at least I missed them). But now it's that time of the year again, where mates rejoin and new chicks are made. Can't wait...  I just hope that we can get those other two cams up and running.  How about it station guys? :-)
